Since I pushed my front axle forward a bit I need to go ahead and get a longer front shaft. I'd also like to get a CV up there that can take a little more angle than the stocker because I plan on raising my T-Case back up ... eventually. I'd also liketo get a little more slip in the splines.

Are there any driveshaft places around here that can build me a new shaft with a higher angle CV and possibly a little more slip on the splines?

I hate to order from the net if there is a local place that I can support.

There is.. I'll leave it at that and say... Tom Woods has been real good to the offroad community.

And just give the local guy a call for an estimate an my guess is you'll do what I did and call TW.

    Are you talkign about margots?

I guess I was hoping I could bring the shaft somewhere and have them look at it vs. taking a bunch of measurements.

I would not go to Driveline. They cost me $300.00 dollars last time I was there and
it only needed a $40.00 part.

If you just talked to him on the phone, yeah, he'll give you a bad impression! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cody:" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
If you go see him in person, after you talk to him a while you'll realize he's a
little odd, but a pretty nice guy, with a really ofbeat sense of humor.
He probably wasn't the absolute cheapest person I could have gotten my rear
CV joint fabricated by, but it's been fine for the last 2 years.
The first time I went there, I had a bent front driveshaft, and wanted to get it
retubed. Toby looked at it, said " it's a slow day, come on in the back, lets's see what we've got here." He put it on a machine and started measuring, and ended up
using a torch and straightening it, spent about 45 minutes with me on it, and
wouldn't take any money for it, and I remember him balancing a shaft at a different
time for no charge, so I don't mind paying a little more when I need to purchase
    something that his shop has

toby is a little quircky on the phone, but he is a VERY knowledgeable guy, you just have to give him a little space.

you will need to pull tape, but just on the jeep, from yoke to yoke. he will do the rest.

mine, without a cv was 180, with all new parts.

    Ordered one from TW.

Should be here next Tuesday. They said I can probably get about 10" of droop out of the front before the DC becomes an issue so I think I'll be good with that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cody:" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
